Annie Rieu
was born in Tilburg 23 march 1930 by a very artistically family. Her Father was musician and the full nephew of Andre Rieu his Father. Her Mother was worked in a theater. At the age of nine an accident happend she feld down on a street with her head and she got paralyzed. At the age of 16 she started to paint, because she couldn't play piano or play violin. When she was 24 she married with my father Cornelis (Cees) van de Sande and in 1972 she divorced. She moved then to 's-Hertogenbosch where she still lives. In 1975 she married with her new friend Joop Crul which was also not so success. She is very creative and in the 75 Joop and she started a circus, so called Circus Fista for and through handicap people. She made a painting fot a festival in Tilburg and she was making a lot of paintings through her live. Also her clothes are made by her selves. Even now she is painting and making her own clothes. She is living in an house which is connected to a elderly people house in the same building.
She has a spiritual view of live and You can find on her paintings what she is seeing as a clear-voyant.
The important of these paintings is that is has a own story which I have written down for her for this collection. Below is a painting (oil) about her experience when her
father died. She painted her father as a soul who was playing violin by the tomb. A lot of her paintings is all about her view of life and even her experience with life bad and good. Because of her difficulties in life she followed school as a dressmaker and still on she makes her dresses at the age of 80.
All her paintings are made with oil-painting. The characteristic of her painting is the lookalike of using the tint of the middle ages.

We will see the different type of her view of life. Even traumatic experience she showed through her paintings. Her psychological view is of readings books about soul. some books she read are: Teilhardt du charding - het verschijnsel mens; The Tibetan deadbook and many other books.
